Putnam Mathematical Competition

Each year over 4,000 contestants from nearly 600 colleges and universities participate in the Putnam Mathematical Competition which is the most prestigious mathematics contest for undergraduates in the United States and Canada. The Mathematical Association of America sponsors the Putnam Competition.

The Putnam Competition occurs on the first Saturday in December at Colleges and Universities across North America including Kansas State University. An announcement of the results is made the following March. The last Putnam Exam is posted on a bulletin board in the first floor hallway of Cardwell Hall. Putnam Exam problems and solutions are online at Mathematical Competition Problems and Solutions. The Putnam Seminar is designed to help K-State students do their best in the Putnam Competition.
